Really? The very first time I read the word 'stocky' was in the description of a typical dwarf. Stocky, to me at least, has always been more about build than size though, which is why when I first described him, I made a point of saying he was short.

For powers, I'm gonna go with what I described before:
Strength: Self Control, able to change himself and prevent external forces from changing him.
The Sun: Radiation Generation/Control (e.g. light/fire/heat/etc.)

I'm still not sure what to do with the Chariot. Going with the Victory idea, I was kinda thinking either an ability to make an action automatically succeed, or just a general aura that gives a bonus to himself and those friendly to him within a certain range.

Regarding Ginger's Mental Manipulation power: I'm supposing that the limiting factors on the power would be Ginger's mental strength, the belligerence and strength of the target mind, and distance. Would you allow Ginger to have a feel for how likely it is that an attempt to manipulate another's mind will succeed before she tries it?

What are our memories like at this point? We remember the events from The Well, but I'm not clear on how much we remember from before that.

Yeah, I'd say that'd be fine. Part of it you can judge just from the character's personality. Some might be shielded against mental influence - you will be able to tell that almost immediately. But generally speaking, a very light touch is enough to determine how easily influenced someone is.

Of course, there also might be some who are trained to feel and recognize such abilities.

As for your memories...

You pretty much remember all of it. When she first revived the memories this time, you rather painfully remembered the entirety of it. Now, with time, those memories will fade into the distance. Still there, but they'll lose the harsh edge.

Still though, you do not remember the reason why you got locked into this cycle of death/rebirth in the first place You know it has something to do with something you've done.

Sorry to belabor the point, but the entirety of what? Is there a first, original life that we all had before the cycle? How much of that life can we remember? If we could remember "all of it" as you say, then I'm confused as to why we don't remember our names and what we did that got us here. I just want to make sure I role play it appropriately.

As a trivial example, are we really supposed to know about Kirk and Picard? Do we just have vague impressions about them, or do we remember details? If Ginger was a hard-core Trekkie, would those names come more readily to her mind than to someone who wasn't?

EDIT: Another question, although I expect the answer is "Wait and see." The man in the forest mentions The Emperor and Empress. Does this relate directly to Enver and Pretty? I would ask in-game, except that I see no reason why Ginger would think that it might have anything to do with them.

EDIT 2: Yet another question. At what point do you wish our characters' powers to become manifest in the game? And how are they to discover that they have them?

You can remember all of it, stretching -quite- far back... but you can't remember the one thing that got you there in the first place. There's what almost feels like a mental wall (which, in theory, you -could- try to break through... wouldn't recommend it though) blocking it off. Put into a bit clearer terms, that means no - you do not remember your first life.

--

For all intents and purposes, feel free to make as many references as you want, to whatever you want. Heck, in one of your lifes you might've been IN the Star Trek universe. You might've met them yourself. As for just what you remember, that is completely character and player dependent. If you think your character would get the reference, then run with that. If you think they would not, then go with that.

Not so much wait and see... none of you are Arcana. I can tell you that much right now. Anything further than that, however... well. Wait and see. :riff:

As for your abilities/powers, how they become manifest. Put it this way. It's like in the Matrix, when Neo is taught martial arts. At the moment, you're sitting there doing the mental equivalent of 'I know kung fu'. You remember, and you remember you have these abilities, but it's going to take a bit to really sink in. There's a reason why Morpheus took Neo into the dojo immediately afterward. The best way to get a grasp back onto your abilities is to start putting them into practice again. However, your control isn't what it used to be by any means, so if you do use them you're going to want to do so carefully.

As for how they remember them, practice them, begin to manifest them, that's up to you and your roleplay.

I'm wondering how many references I can work into this before I have to start making up places myself.

I haven't had to yet. Every place that Enver's mentioned over the last two posts is from some work of fiction. If I'd remembered the name of that city from Path of the Perambulator I would have had another example...

Geez, you guys sure slapped Ginger's wrists, there.

Technically, if Ginger see or senses something that the others cannot, shouldn't that get sent in a PM to be more authentic to gameplay? It's not that there's currently any reason for her to hide her impressions from others, but The Kid and Cecil seemed to know more than they should about what just happened.

I think it's kind of funny that I'm now in two games in FRPG playing as a female character with mental powers.

Nah, you had just said you read minds. Then:

Scary Hairy wrote: . . . notice Harry closing his eyes and gritting his teeth for a moment, . . .

"You might want to stop looking at him. He doesn't like people very much."

jump to conclusion commences.

Pretty would've assumed it was a bear anyway, seeing as he has a fixed mental assumption on everyone. When he calls you Beorn, you're gonna be a bear-man.

I guess that makes sense.

By the way, I have been finding myself wanting to put faces to these made-up names. I did a stock photo search and found one for Ginger. I don't know who the heck this person is, but I'm going to say that Ginger looks something like this:

Enver's line of reasoning was similar... he heard Ginger claim she could read (and modify) minds, then heard the Kid basically claim she had read (or modified) a mind, and so tried to act sensibly by protecting his mind the only way he knows how.

In theory, it could've been sent as a PM. For more sensitive information, it probably -will- get sent as a PM. And I have a cat in my face, and cannot see what I am typing. MOVE GADGET! No, don't settle down in front of.... Gah. Fur in face. Down!

Yes, I know I left you in the room all day. That doesn't mean you get to stick your rear in my face.

Darn cat.

Anyways, as I was saying before I was interrupted...

That sort of thing can be sent as a PM, but odds are through one ability or another the others could more or less sense (if more indirectly) that there was something about Harry (sounds like a name of a movie...). So I just posted it up in the thread instead, in this case.
