What does Strike do? It sounds kind of like a short range blasting ability.

It's the melee equivalent of Blast, and costs half as much.

Is it cheap enough to where I could buy it together with my broadsword using the next five points we get to spend?

If you're going to buy Strike, buying a broadsword would be redundant. They wouldn't stack.

A Strike that would be the equivalent of the broadsword would cost you 5 points (including the Improved Critical feat), but it wouldn't be dependent on you having the sword and couldn't be disarmed or taken away.

So Strike is better then having a sword? I guess that's fair.

So, I screwed up.

This game was supposed to be about a bunch of kids learning and growing into their powers. But I got caught up in the whole "fighting the villain" thing and completely derailed it. It's now down far on this other track that it was never supposed to be on, and I don't have a map for it. I have no idea where it's going, or how to switch it back to the right track. I prepared for a school-life game, not a miniature version of the Justice League (not yet, at least).

So here we are, way off track into territory I'm not prepared or equipped to navigate, and I'm completely at a loss for what to do about it. Maybe just advance to the next year and get a completely fresh start?

I'm fine with that, too, but if we flash forward right now without any intervention from the other PCs, Martín will end up taking up with Rubber, Glue and the bronze Brazilian girl.

Adam is currently watching TV in the common room at the dorms. If you want, send Martín over there and sit him down and he and Adam can strike up a mutual friendship based on honesty, understanding, and/or a desire to punch things.

I planned on having Jimmy catch Martin up, he just hasn't had time yet! I'm good with whatever. I just want to play, damnit.

That will work for me as well. It would be cool if we could potentially fold in side stories with a couple of the other PCs during the fast forward. Just to make things more interesting. That will also help Grillick get Martin integrated better.

I honestly see nothing wrong, from a storytelling perspective, with Martín taking up with the antagonists. He hasn't been welcomed by the protagonists, and it's not uncommon for one or more protagonists in an ensemble piece to spend some time working with (or even actually being) antagonists.

And Kajin, that doesn't sound at all in character for Martín, especially since he's currently behind the bleachers with a very attractive girl from his native country.
