"Motherf... Jeremiah, what's the status of her suit's communication system? The Bull's coming in from the south, ready to bend us over the barrel. We need Paladins with heavies or explosives or whatever the hell those guys use to kill a lot of something over there yesterday."

Justin curses Jason and his addiction to those damned drugs, and shifts his fire to the Legionnaires trying to kill his cousin.

Jason jams a stimpack into its port in the armor and will slam the sledge into any legion who happen to be close. His vocabulary seems to be filled with only consonants right now.

One of the older traders tosses Jack an old, beaten-up laser pistol. "No charge, kid. We get out of this alive, consider it hazard pay."

Jeremiah thinks he could probably jury-rig a connection to the suit's radio system though some of the damaged systems (usually this would be impossible, as the radio is integrated with the suit's internal systems, but the damage it has taken has granted access to systems otherwise unavailable). It shouldn't even take that long.
Of course, the only vertibird the base had is now sitting in pieces about a click away. The chance of the Brotherhood getting backup to the outpost in time is virtually nil.

Justin shifts his aim. The battle around Jason is chaotic and wild, and only through years of honed training is Justin able to hit a Legionnaire without hitting his cousin. The Legionnaire pulls away from Jason (who is busy trading blows with his comrade anyway, neither making much headway) and charges towards the Keyestone line.

Meanwhile, Michael sweeps an arm, ordering the Knights from the outpost forward. He rises from his firing position to follow the surging Knights forward when, rather suddenly, his head explodes. The thundercrack sound of a high-powered rifle follows the explosion, reaching the ears of the Brotherhood heartbeats after the bullet strikes down the Knight.
One of the outpost Knights yells out, "SNIPER!" and the Brothers quickly take cover.

"Thanks, Old-Timer!" Jack nods his head in appreciation before heading back towards the front of the base, just in time to see Michael's head asplode. Crouching down and moving forward past Michael's body, Jack takes cover a small distance behind the outpost Knights and provides them with covering fire where he can.

Justin snugs his rifle but into his shoulder and puts the sights over the charging Legionairre and fires. He looks around to take stock of the situation and curses.

"We're being flanked! Keystone, dig in!"

Jeremiah frowns down at the power armor, then he looks up as Joseph calls out. "I think I can get the transmitter working again here, but I don't know what good it will do. There's no other bird nearby. Can we hold out, or should we pull back?" While he waits for an answer, he tries to splice the circuitry to get the transmitter working.

Justin is able to line up a nice clean shot at the charging Legionnaire; the laser rifle chirps out a charge that slams into an unprotected spot on his upper body, roasting him to ash inside his protective layering. The Keystone buckle down and establish a line, which the Legion is unable to break.

Nor does the Legion have any more luck against the outpost, as Jack and the Knights pin them effectively, trapping Caesar's troops between their fire and the Keystone's.

Jason manages to disarm his foe with a violent shove, but then he slows; the drugs don't last as long any more, and he's starting to lose his high.

Jeremiah gets the radio working again; it starts picking up a couple signals - two with a Brotherhood signature (one faint, one strong) and one with an unrecognised signature on it.

Joe still sees the Legion flanking group coming in from the south; there's probably still time to warn someone before the Brotherhood forces get completely cut off and out-flanked.

Jeremiah smiles as he sees the radio signals come in, and he responds to the strong Brotherhood signal. "Operator number Kilo-Sierra-Niner-Six-Two-Delta to unknown Brotherhood signal. What is your location?" He suddenly processes what Joe said about people coming up from the south. "Justin! We've got company coming from the rear!" He waits impatiently for a response from the radio.

Justin looks over his shoulder while the Legionairre corpse falls and spits a curse. He slaps the Keyes next to him on the shoulder.

"Legion to the rear. Keep up the fire."

Justin turns and begins firing at the unit attempting to flank his squad.

"Legion to the rear! Odd numbers break off fire and provide rear cover!"

Jack advances forward amongst whatever cover he can find. Once he's gotten up alongside the Knights, he'll be helping them by providing supporting fire where possible.

The Keystone switch targets at Justin's command, while the Knights from the outpost continue to drive the Legion back towards their ranks. While they currently hold the high ground, between the reinforcements (and sniper fire) from the south and the Legion falling back from the outpost, they probably won't hold it for long.

Judah moves forward and grabs Jason by the shoulder, dragging him back towards the Keyestone lines. He takes a bullet to the shoulder for his effort, and drops his machine gun besides his slowly-sobering cousin.

"Uh, hello?" Jeremiah hears over the radio. "This is Hot Springs outpost. If you're Brotherhood, we need help. There's Legion here. All of them, I think." The message crackles. "Hold on; lemme get someone that knows stuff."

Joe's there too.

Jack isn't a soldier, and while he's been in his share of firefights, none of them have been as big as this one. He doesn't have the focus of the Brotherhood, so he's looking around the battlefield a bit more. Thus it is that he catches one of the traders hiding in the outpost waving towards him and the Knights, with a radio receiver in one hand.

"Someone who knows stuff. That would be fantastic, thank you!" Joe attempts to make the two unconscious people un-unconscious. Or conscious, if you want to get technical.

Justin puts more fire into the Legion reinforcements coming from the south. Aw he changes clips he attempts to address the tactical situation as he sees it.

We've got the high ground such as it is. Those Legion troops that got rebuffed by the outpost can't shift us, but their reinforcements coming from the south will roll us over. We have to get to the outpost and then get out of here. We either die or fall back. poop.

Justin finishes loading his charged clip and puts fire into the Legion to the south.

"Keystone! We have to move before those troops finish flanking us. We're going to Hot Springs, and I don't give a good god damn if there are enemy in the way! Scribes, you take hold of my sister and bring her with us, or you'll wish you hadn't survived that crash!

"Let's move, Boys!"

Jeremiah helps Joe pick up Julia and Jacob, which is not an easy task for the two small young men. "Justin, Julia's alive but she needs medical attention. Hot Springs Outpost has a functioning radio. And there's another Brotherhood signal a bit further out I should be able to reach from there."
