Hey Pete, you should sick BunBun on SOPA. Just tell him it will mean no more Baywatch online. If he can take out Christmas Ghosts, this legislation should be no challenge.

Yea I am not a big fan for MWF for Sluggy. A guest week or just a filler week would be better. For every other webcomic I would be OK with MWF but not Sluggy which has been consistently massive in content.

Also: yay for a reference to the Dimension of Lame Torg shirt. And more importantly the famous PLAID shirt of legend. Torg needs to go back to the fashion of the 90s.

Facebook casual games just don't really touch my care meter thus jokes about them don't really hit my funny bone. I still find the regular "cast personality" jokes funny, and have been liking the arc otherwise. I'm just like "groaaaaan more facebook game and social media jokes" So I don't think the arc is bad. It's not so much that I want the arc to end asap, but I sure wouldn't mind if the social media obsession jokes tapered off. it just feels like the jokes have been very heavy on the facebook/twitter obsession angle. that said it's just my personal taste, I'm not much of a facebook junky, and I want nothing to do with those sad excuse for "games", and I haven't thought the jokes were bad, I just didn't find them funny. I certainly don't think Pete's doing badly.

Also I mean I know they've been in hiding but come on riff doesn't have something offensively dangerous on him, it just seems odd. :riff:

also also, where did he say he'd go to MWF that weirds me out a bit, I'd hope there'd at least be filler on the off days.

Pete, I think most of us probably already assumed Sluggy conforms to Comic Book Time. Don't sweat the illogical passage of time. Trying to stick to real time would probably kill your ability to tell the story as you see fit.

Now, I haven't played ME 3, and based on the amount of flack I've heard about the ending, I don't plan on buying it any time soon. I'll probably end up picking it up for $20 in the discount bin at wal-mart, or gamestop in a year or two. Bioware really screwed themselves over with this one. It's going to be a long, hard fight to win back their fan base after this.

Pete, if you haven't already, go to YouTube and look up 'Mass Effect 3: Shepard's Indoctrination'. It offers -in my opinion- the only justification for that completely ridiculous ending. If it isn't true and Bioware really intended that pile of steaming... you know, to be the ending; well, I gotta say I'm never buying one of their games again, ever.

*Fingers crossed for ending-changing DLC*

Thanks Pete for the link to the article about the ending to Mass Effect 3. That ending was so randomly terrible to an otherwise perfect series. Like it Mother Teresa stabbed a baby on her death bed out of nowhere.

The ending was so bad that I went and wrote a much better ending that uses "the Indoctrination Theory" as a spring board for
1) Boss fight with Harbinger, a (real) boss fight with TIM and a boss fight with the Reaper Collective
2) Uses every character that Shepard has met to some extent.
3) Uses war assets in the fight.
4) Explains what the Reapers/Crucible is in a logical and powerful way.
5) Has good and bad ending with a powerful final choice.

Since you give us such great content I thought I would share something I made up.
Well, at least I thought my ending was cool.

You know... I've been sitting on my hands and biting my tongue on all the ME3 ending hate for a while now. I sat through it when Ctrl+Alt+Delete and every other web comic I've read ragged on it. And you know what... I'm really tired of it. I played ME3... I beat it... I saw the ending... I don't see any of the things people are claiming are there. I've gone back... I played it again... I beat it again... and this time LOOKED to see if I could see all the stuff people say is wrong with the ending. Final: result... the problems people are claiming are there... simply aren't. Not in the actual ending... any of the endings... not any where I can find them.

My only conclusion is that people have misunderstood the ending and are mad about the parts they misunderstood. This fits pretty well with the fact that the complaints directly conflict with what is shown in the ending. Every single argument I've heard or read or seen for how the ME3 ending is crap has been explained away in-game ether during the ending itself or prior to the ending in journal logs, character dialog, etc. I'm not gonna go into them. Not again... I'm tired of pointing out the flaws in people's arguments for people to just look at me dumb founded and sputtering and then stupidly repeat the argument again as if repeating it over and over will some how make the whopping flaws I just pointed out in them go away.

I'm sorry Pete... but buying in to the mob mentality here has hurt my opinion of you. And, no, I don't care that this was ME3 or a Bioware game. Those details are beside the point... the point being that the argument's made are so utterly transparently wrong and you bought into them any way. If you had bought into the anti-Windows-Vista sentiment or the anti-AT&T sentiment I would have written them off as you not being a techie and forgiven them on those grounds... but you're a writer, and from everything I've seen up till now a good one. You should know better. It would be like me claiming that Torg's recent badassitude is unexplained and thus ruining the comic. It *is* explained... perhaps not spelled out but still explained. Well it would be like that if I had 10+ years of writing under my belt and was the creator of one of the most successful <insert content type here> on the internet.

The only complaint about the ME3 ending so far that I've seen that had any validity is that there would be dozens of endings when there are really only 3. Welcome to America... would you like fries with that? Corporate america has been pulling that crap for over a decade... no one's really cared till now. And the rest of the arguments... like I said... are more or less "paper tigers." Obviously fake and utterly pointless.

I guess it all boils down to this for me: Sluggy is the one comic I would read if all others were inaccessible to me. So I guess that's why I couldn't hold my tongue this time. I'm just very very gravely disappointed. It's like finding out Batman deals drugs to elementary school kids in his spare time.

I very much doubt anyone misunderstood "synthetics will always destroy organics, so I created a bunch of synthetics to destroy organics before they made synthetics that would destroy organics."

It's almost as stupid as killing off your main character in the first five minutes.

Hey everybody! Good news for all of us disappointed with the non-thorough ending to Mass Effect 3! It looks like Bioware will be enhancing it and offering it as free DLC this summer.
http://news.ea.com/portal/site/ea/index ... ce=message

Jormungandr : Hey, relax! I’m entitled to my honest opinion and believe me it didn’t magically occur after getting some kind of anti-Bioware-mob-initiation card. I don’t begrudge you your opinion. Let’s just leave it at that. (extends hand in friendship)
And I’d like to say, for the record, how you finished your post, suggesting the Batman was selling drugs to elementary kids? Your post had a much better ending than Mass Effect 3. (ducks) :kiki:

Endplanets: WOW! I only had time to skim your ending-rewrite, but it’s clear you put a ton of thought and effort into it. Well done.
