Illegal immigrants go home, Arizona rendered redundant

Postby Kea » Tue Apr 17, 2012 7:10 am

This almost sounds like the set-up for a punchline. Due to the bad economy in the US and the now booming one in Mexico, the net inflow of illegal immigrants has reached roughly 0.

Must be time for us to start swimming across the rio grande to find work that no one else will do.

I'm about to graduate from law school.

Believe me, Jorodryn, it's tempting.

There is no need to swim. You can walk through the official border crossing with no problem. Traveling deeper into the country is when you need to get written government permission. Coming back is the big hastle. I'm just glad if stuff truly does hit the fan in this country having parents from Mexico means I can cash in and claim Mexican citizenship at any time.

It's actually easier to enter the country illegally than legally. We crossed the border at Tijuana, and we had to seek out a border official, and then it took a while for me to explain in my bad Spanish that we really did need to pay them some money for a travel permit.

I guess they're used to the gringos in Tijuana sampling the produce then heading back north.
