Ginger is amazing... Canada Dry ginger ale, they use real ginger in it. Does WONDERS for a sour stomach.

My current annoyance? Hubby dropped his phone while SITTING on the couch last night, from the couch to the area rug. Now, when you turn it on, the LCD looks like a field of stars. Good news? It's still under factory warranty. Bad news? We'd have to send it in. 3-5 days for shipping, 7-10 days to fix it and another 3-5 days to ship it back. That's a LONG time to not have a phone. Not to mention, with our luck they'll claim it's damage anyway (no visible cracks or anything on the outside, dude hasn't even a scratch on the LCD) and we'll end up paying for the repair. GRRRRRR.

Awesome.

Thanks for the advise, I'll use it for other times when sour stomach hits. Airsickness, however, doesn't hit me. It's the feeling that I'll be the statistical outlayer and get struck down by plane crash and die while terrified and alone on an international flight that scares me. I've been pretty panicky on planes since one flight I was on in my early twenties free-falled for about 3 seconds. It's bad, too -- the last flight I was on about 3 years ago, I wept when we hit turbulance, which was embarrassing. I haven't been on a plane since (not out of avoidance, but because there was no need), so I haven't had a chance to build a tolerance.

I'm seriously considering it, though my current physician seems to be a "deal with it" type. I'll ask her before I go. I don't think I have the time to start therapy and grind it out without meds, so I hope she'll be sympathetic.

Hell, I haven't been on a plane in ten years, and that is by choice.

Overheard someone at lunch today stated to the other person she is sitting with, that the one item she tasted didn't have any salt at all on it, so she has to go get some. That's understandable, and I would agree, but it's what she says next makes me want to strangle her for stupidity.

"Even though I really don't like the taste of salt since my father started using sea-salt years ago. I know that sea salt isn't real salt, but I don't like the taste of salt as well."

The main reason is the second sentence, but I suspect the first sentence shows that her father is also an idiot. He may not be, but where do you thing she got this idea from?

This reminds me of the time someone online said that they cut all extraneous sodium from their diet since they only use sea-salt since it only contains potassium chloride.

I am so angry at academia right now, I can't see straight. I twisted my schedule at work to the breaking point so I could meet my thesis adviser in the middle of the afternoon.

He forgot. He forgot! I waited for an hour for him, and he forgot.

He emailed me and told me he forgot! AAAAAAGGGGGGGHRHRHRHRHRHRHRHR*snarl*

Kajin, I need to get to Kentucky and that scrap yard. Sounds cathartic.

I tried not getting on short-haul planes for a few years for environmental reasons, but there came a time when I couldn't hack it any more. It prevented me from going any reasonable distance without taking time off work, since fitting a 32-hour return bus journey into a weekend trip isn't too feasible. I don't know how you manage.

Bingo.

Though I did drive out to Iowa one Christmas. I shouldn't have, though.

Crappy internet. Also, people who complain about my complaining about crappy internet. Excuse me for being pissed that my primary source of idle entertainment isn't functioning properly.

Maybe they'd be just as annoyed if their HDTV stopped working properly, or their iPod was broken, or someone hired a midget to kick them in the testicles every time they settled down to read a book?
