What's this?
A few days time later and Im here with an update? IMPOSSIBRU!
Get used to it =P
So, I've been mulling ideas around and I wanted to get some player opinions before I start.
Normally I've posted big arse OOC threads with a crap-ton of information and novels worth of text to read to get players interested in a game and get characters made. Well, what I have in mind is a bit more interactive.
What I'd like to do is post some basic game information here -- IE: the setting, the world, a bit of history, a few character examples -- and allow you all to see what you'll be dealing with. Then? I start the game like so...
I will Roleplay character creation.
I will literally start a Classroom Thread, let anyone whose interested jump into the thread and RP a student. What I have in mind is private, remote connections where potential Arbiter Students can sit in on a class, ask questions, and interact with the game while remaining anonymous. This is a world where technology and magic are a fusion, so having a "blank slate" character to roleplay with is easy -- you're on a holographic connection that shows none of your features, lets you remained un-named, but still lets you interact with the classroom.
Basically you RP yourself learning about the world.
From there, as you learn about the game and ask questions, you get character ideas and flesh them out with me. You won't be role playing your character, not yet, but yourself as you build your character into what it will be for the game. I'll let my old players remove the rust and dust n get creative, and let my new players get used to my style before the game even starts. Here's an example of some questions you might ask while learning:
"Can I be a God of fire and wrath and explode things?"
"Yes you can, here's the system that will support it."
"How does magic work in this world?"
"Like so and so, etc, explanation that will really be RPd as it goes."
So, I roleplay the systems of the games to you, one bit at a time, while you ask questions and obtain your character ideas. At the end of it all, you get an "application" - or character sheet - that you fill out with your back story, powers, weapons, etc. I pick the top 7 (if there's that much interest), the others can keep reading and mayhaps be recurring villains or supporting characters later in - or replace characters that have to leave for whatever reason.
Roleplayed Sign up Thread.
Whose on board? Or would you rather it be the normal novella of info? Let me know what you'd prefer so I can start posting ^_^
