Pete, dude, you just got over Pneumonia, wait until you're 100% before starting up again. You've got a sick kid to look after, and a bad case of burnout on the horizon if you keep pushing yourself like this.

Take it easy, we can wait for new comics. I still remember when my daughter (then 3 years old) spent 2 weeks in hospital thanks to pneumonia. And a few days the next year (but that could be overreaction from our pediatrician). That was more than 20 years ago...

What everyone else said. FANTASTIC that you're feeling better, but PLEASE don't do too much too soon. Another week of filler (or nothing) will not deter us; just make the announcement and we'll all be fine.

Dude, who you calling "gent"?? Girls can be (old) Sluggite geeks, too!

Pete: So glad to hear that you are pulling out of it. So sorry to hear that Leah's now dealing with it -- particularly after giving us such delightful filler. Your wife must be completely exhausted by this point!

Take care -- looking forward to having you back soon!

I check in everyday - at this point, it's not even for the comic, I know you're not well enough for that to happen. Instead I check in to see how you and the fam are doing. As others have said, many of us remember when Leah was born! We're invested. Obviously we look forward to the comic, but we care about you and yours. This is a serious piece of Kiki's behind-the-couch-treats. You deal with it as long as you need to. We'll still be here when you're able to come back.

Nice point. To be honest I was a little surprised Pete wasn't able to banish all disease from him instantly while doing his Glowey-thing. Are we sure Shirt Guy Tom hasn't been seen sneaking around and giving him lumpy maggot treatments? :P

In all seriousness though, please take all the time you need man. Sounds like you're whole family is having a very rough time of it (though Leah's cat comic was sweet, hope she feels better).

Pete's head glows because he swallowed a Lite-Brite which isn't well known for having anti-microbial properties. To ward off germs he would have to ingest a can of Lysol. That's not something I would recommend in his present condition. Perhaps he can do so once he feels better as a preventative measure for next time.

So far as the news is concerned:

Pete, you've been very good about keeping up with your franchise. You've earned the right to change the, erm, "rules". If you need to go to a weekend-free comic, go right ahead. Yours wouldn't be the first.

As far as this month is concerned, I think the majority of us would state that we're surprised you've got anything going at all. I say this as a fan who wants the artist to remain well: do not strain yourself. A relapse would be catastrophic; we'd rather see you rested and well than forcing yourself to produce content and frankly killing yourself in the process.

Pete, a man's got to know his limitations. I'm glad you know yours.

I'll still be here, same Bat-time, same Bat-Web address.

Pete, I may be a relatively new Sluggite, but I will stick with this story right up through the end. Relax and take it easy, you've more than earned it. I'll see ya on Wednesday, and I'll keep you and your family in my thoughts and prayers.

With this story until the glorious conclusion.

Pete, let me just chime in with everybody else and wish you and yours a speedy recovery. Take all the time you need, we'll back you all the way. As nifty as the comic is, family is _way_ more important.

Yes, take your time. We need you a little unbalanced to come up with such a good comic but your health, your family, and your general sanity are much more important than an arbitrary schedule. You do what you gotta do. We will keep coming back.
