Well this is about as "Out of Left Field" as you can get. While everyone, and I mean everyone was talking about the Chief Justice retiering. Miss O'Connor suddenly get it in her blood to steal his thunder and Retier herself!

I have to say it will be a shame to see her go. She wasn't just the first women Supream Court Justice, but also the first from my home state of Arizona.

Sadly though, this means that a Moderat is retiering, and I'm going to be nervious as all heck if Bush puts up Gonzo for replacment.

Yes...I think it's totally bizarre that somebody elected to serve for four years can make Supreme Court appointments that last for decades and decades. The system is begging to be abused, like it's screaming "Do NOT represent the will of the people, please!"

If a moderate republican was president like McCain, I'd trust him not to stock the court with crazies. But with Bush... *shutter*

Thank god the democrats are obstructionist. :)

There's more extreme people to panic about. Gonzo's actually moderate enough on several hot-button issues to have the conservative activists mad at him.
