Thyla the Might Site Admin wrote: Signatures will never be added. It is simply not necessary. Two common appeals:
1. I'd like to sign my name to my posts!
We know who's posting - your avatar, forum name, and location are displayed with every post, and you can also optionally display contact information in every post.
2. I'd like to include a witty tagline.
No thanks. We'd rather be convinced of your wit through your posts, not your sig.
3. I'll pay you $1000 to enable signatures.
Done deal! :-D
And now you know!

I wonder what she'd do if someone actually did give her $1000....

I hereby state that if actually presented with $1000 (for Sluggy, not for me personally), I will enable sigs for a whole year.

as much as i'd love the $1000 for pete, trust me, once you've been here a while, when you go to another forum with signatures they just start to piss you off... the page load times, the huge graphics of someone's adorable family, the fact that you have to scroll thru bunches of 1 line posts that take up your entire screen... ugh.

I don't like signatures. They are pompus, and get old. If you have something to say, why use a signature? Waste of space.
Instead, turn your location into a signature. Keeps all of your info on the side so that we don't feel obligated to read them if we don't want to.

If there was going to be a sig, it should be limited to like twenty words MAX and no images, text only. That having been said, there are no sigs.

The problem with sigs is that it's just the same thing repeated over and over and over and over and over and over again...

Interesting enough, wehen I joined another forum that DID allow sigs, and fairly large ones at that, I never got around to putting one up. Eventually I did when other people on the forum kept looking at me funny for NOT having on.

As evidenced by peoples opinions and this thread and the previous one I neglected to search for sigs are not wanted on this site. I also think the issue has been covered enough. I didnt intend to be (insert adjective here) but it seems as though this post has become one of those things that people dislike about sigs, semi repetitive. In addition I have realized that adding "POING" to the end of my posts is just as rewarding as the sig I would have had,
"The most exciting phrase to hear in science, the one that heralds new discoveries, is not 'Eureka!' (I found it!) but 'That's funny ..."
I. Asimov
or
"There is a theory which states that if ever anybody discovers exactly what the Universe is for and why it is here, it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable. There is another theory which states that this has already happened."
D. Adams
It is up to the mods whether or not this thread continues but I feel as though it has served its intended purpose.
I apoligize again to any who thought I over reacted.
For good measure POING

Well said, Eric. This thread should've been locked after the first reply, because that said everything you needed to know about the subject. Everything after that was just pointless overkill.
